1. I bought this camera for a specific project. My other devices include a Fit-bit Versa 2, which I use to monitor my sleep. Fit-bit provides a chart showing different sleep states. I wanted to record videos to compare to the Fit bit charts.
For example, I was wondering if I was actually awake at night when Fit-bit reported this. What if I looked different in REM sleep than in deep sleep?I placed the Kasa camera on a bedside table and selected the 24/7 recording option after inserting a mini SD card which automatically formatted the camera.
I wouldn't say the menu is very intuitive, but after about 15 minutes I developed some ease in figuring out how to set up storage and retrieval. It was easy for me to connect the camera to my network. The resolution is excellent even in a dark room.
The stability of the camera on my bedside table is excellent. and so does ifThe camera is tilted on its base. I didn't have to permanently attach the camera with the included screws and bracket. Because the video clips are time-stamped, I can easily correlate them to Fit-bit's sleep graph.
For me this little camera is worth its price and deserves 5 stars. I'm glad I was able to integrate recordings into my Fit-bit sleep tracking app as described and look forward to finding other apps where the video plugin is useful.
I didn't find it necessary to use the cloud recording option and I like the privacy of recording only to an SD drive.
2. We bought this camera thinking it wouldn't work because it was so cheap. There were some glitches on the way to setting it up. However, we were able to catch the criminal... Someone pooped on the couch.
We have a Chihuahua, a very small Doccia whose legs are only 3 inches long, a three legged cat and a tiny kitten.By the way, we buy tarps from Amazon. They work very well because we started protecting ourselves until the vet recommended buying a camera.
To our surprise, our three-legged cat Lego would drag his butt up there and leave us a shit every day. Well, he denied it. The camera was proof enough.The camera is very small and not visible. So if you want to use this camera for something other than a pet, you can hide it literally anywhere.
FYI, we haven't gotten rid of Lego the cat. She records it at night, but the camera works great when we leave our son home alone for a while.
