 Review

1: I bought this  to complement the Lowe Pro Fastback 250 which has been my main camera bag for a number of years. While this bag is great, I think this one manages to outperform it in key areas, with just a few minor downsides. ....Advantages: The interior is fully configurable to your liking.

The dividers with Velcro allow you to configure it  as you wish.I just set it  up  as a camera bag with  my two Canon bodies (550D and 760D) plus four extra lenses, various filters, chargers, batteries etc.

Alternatively, on a recent trip to Copenhagen I have the bottom section in the dedicated camera area, a small section in the top half for the battery, charger and filters, and the rest of the top for general storage (guides, umbrellas, etc.). This makes the bag very useful as it is flexible in what you want to do.

The " Hardtop".I liked the fact that the top opening is really stiff. You don't have to worry about someone crushing the top part. In addition, the inner zip pocket is perfect for keys, passport, etc., to avoid having to keep them in the bag.

In fact, I like the fact that everything is rigid with a padded interior. It's a lot tougher than you think...The extra extras: the extra external straps, bottle holders, tripod mount, etc. they're very useful and much stronger than the  Fast pack 250. Weight:

While this bag is stiff and sturdy, it doesn't feel heavy at all, even when it's over carried on one shoulder. Side access flaps.

This bag has the same side access flaps to access your camera as  the FP250. Plus, since there are panels on BOTH sides, you can choose how you want to access your camera.Build Quality:

That's Lowe pro so you know you're getting a properly made product. good support,  better with the "air" holes to end the old "sweaty back" problem of carrying a backpack for a long  time.Integrated rain cover. I made good use  of that on the trip.

Very easy to place and fold. It even manages to cover the pocket when you have the external  bottle cage installed with a bottle inside.>

2: The Niggles (I'm not sure if there's another name for them). It takes a little getting used to  that to fully open  you have to open the entire back (and that's the part closest to your back that gives access).

While it's highly configurable, I'd recommend setting it up *before* a ride rather than rearranging sections on the fly during a ride.

The dividers used to create the sections, especially the larger dividers, have A LOT of Velcro.

As such, getting them  exactly where you want them can be a little tricky, as you'll find them clinging to themselves whenever you put them on, rather than having them in the position you really want ( if you get what I mean!).), forcing you to remove them  and try again.

Memory card storage has been expanded from two pockets inside the camera lid to a "double" elastic section at the top. You can put two cards in their sleeves there, but you'll probably have to take them both out to tell which is which.

Overall this is a great bag as long as you set it up how you want it. It offers more flexibility than  lower models and could even be used as a travel or weekend bag if you don't have the full  camera  kit with you.

Because the main divider is only attached on 3 sides, small or thin items may slide from the top part to the bottom part from time to time.

3: One very important thing I want to clarify: this bag is incredibly good. Now, like all bags, it has its pros and cons.

Pros: - Large bag that can carry a lot of gear. - Very convenient. - Has an extra weatherproof "coat" - Pocket on the bottom strap is very handy - 4-way entry into the bag can be really handy - Bag opens from the side right into your back making it harder for pickpockets to get in steal everything you have during your journey.

The two small side pockets are really useful for storing things like extra batteries or batteries for your flash, but they might not be enough if you have a long trip.Cons: - Not enough pockets for gear like cleaning kits and cords.

The cable pocket on the top is roomy, but you can't take a fan with you, and when the camera is on top  it takes a little while to close. - The equipment you need to take with you (extra batteries, batteries for your flash, remote control or self-timer, etc.) must be in the outside pocket that you can attach to the bag (which will not be sealed).

they need to be removed) to attach the cover), , or you need to take out some lenses and put the device in as if it were a lens.- When they say it fits a 15" laptop, they really mean a 15" Mac Book. the bag and it becomes uncomfortable as everything is squeezed and the back is slightly folded.

Again I really enjoy the bag and I think it's amazing and I wouldn't return it because of these little downsides but I think some little touches like it would be much better to have extra pockets for your cleaning gear or a separate pocket for the   Laptop than a regular 15 inch laptop, especially for people who travel a lot. Thank you  for reading and I hope this review helps you with your choice. .
