I like the size of this unit. It's a small square that records videos. I admit we all have cell phones now. There are times when I feel like my phone works better, but I love the form factor and the magnetic base allows for pretty creative hanging placement.
I bought this as a "C-cam" for a series of interviews I was filming.I thought it would live in my pocket but I've actually used this thing on every shoot I've done.
I used them for shots and as a BTS camera. You can set it to turn off at a higher temperature.I keep it in stock to prevent heat damaging the battery.
All in all, this is a great little unit. There is an updated model that just came out. I don't regret this purchase at all and probably won't "upgrade" it.
I was initially a bit hesitant to buy the Action 2 because it looks different, but after seeing some YouTube reviews I became very interested because the modular design makes the Action 2 more customizable than regular cameras.
While the GP10 got heavier, the Action 2 got lighter compared to its predecessor. It's more comparable to the modular Insta 360 One R, but I prefer the Action 2 because you can't go wrong with DJI. 4k videos are buttery smooth and I really enjoy the wider FOV.
The crop for stabilization is very decent and the horizon leveling is better than a Go Pro.
The Action 2 has tons of features and I really like the gestures and voice commands so you can take videos and photos even when you're alone.
DJI Mimo app is really useful for light editing work and file sharing. I have both the DJI Pocket 2 and Action 2 and both have their uses.
For v loggers and those looking for a rugged and portable device that can do pretty much anything with it, the Action 2 is a must-have.
