 Review

I've only had this camera for 2-3 weeks so my experience is limited but so far I'm very happy with it. I previously had a fairly cheap digital camera  (GE X550) and  was looking for something that was a step up from trying to stay under $500 or $600.

This camera has many fancy features. It has what you would expect from any camera  above the point and shoot level. Exposure Full Auto, Manual, Aperture Priority, or Aperture Priority.etc Features you would expect from any DSLR or mirrorless camera.

It has many useful features. The choice of speed ranges from, don't quote me  the numbers, I think something like 5 shots per second  to maybe 20.) Auto Bracketing Mode: Click on an image and 2 more will be automatically captured, one with a slightly darker exposure and one with a slightly lighter exposure.

(How much darker or lighter is a setting, and while I usually use 3, I also do 5 or 7.) Image stabilization, which works very well. I took some handheld night shots  with shutter speeds of 1 or 2 seconds and they came out with no noticeable blur.Ability to have a constant brightness in the viewfinder or  have the brightness reflect what the picture will look like.

One thing  you might think of as cute fluff, but I think it's very useful: you can set it to display the image  on the LCD panel in the viewfinder, or you can  use the LCD panel but then automatically switch to the viewfinder when you watch it. .

Or for me the most practical option of all: the LCD panel folds out (I'm supposed to protect the screen), so when the  LCD  panel is "open" it uses that, when it's closed it uses the viewfinder. Auto focus or manual focus.

(It has a feature they claim keeps a moving object in focus, I haven't tried using that.) Lots of other settings and options that I haven't (or haven't) played with much  understand :-).....

It doesn't have interchangeable lenses, but the built-in lens has  a 20x zoom. The aperture varies from F/2.8 to F/8. Shutter speeds range from wide open to button release, I think 1/4000 second. You can choose between electronic and mixed electronic/mechanical shutter.Shutter speeds can be even faster when using the electronic shutter, but there are some caveats. (The "mixed" mode opens the shutter electronically but closes it mechanically.

The camera  also records video. I've only played with it briefly, mainly wanted a stills camera so  can't say much about it. There are a ton of "creative" ones out there Options "how to take photos in sepia tones, very high contrast, soft focus, etc. .

The menus can be accessed  using the scroll keys or the touchscreen. The controls you'll probably want to use all the time to set the basic mode (S/A/M/P etc.), shutter speed, focus, zoom and a few others are buttons or knobs. General options can be quickly accessed via a few main buttons, e.g. B. ISO sensitivity, white balance and focus mode.

And there is a customizable "quick menu". So if you routinely use a function, you can make it relatively easy to access without having to scroll through all the menus.Cons I noticed: You can't switch lenses. It has a zoom lens that is permanently attached.

Its ability to provide shallow depth of field is limited. background, you may have a hard time pulling it off.I want to play with it some more. I'm sure a professional photographer could point out other limitations, but that's all I've  noticed so far.

This camera is my first camera  (other than my phone). To say that I am absolutely in love with this camera is an understatement. All the photos I've taken so far have come out sharp! The little things in my house, including my cat who doesn't jump around with a phone much, totally come to life! I cried when my camera came in.

I scraped together every penny  to save up for this camera and I'm so glad I did. One thing I would have liked would have been a lens protector. I've seen mentions of UV lens protectors that are said to be absolutely wonderful.

If you  get this camera, save a little more to get one.I'll buy one as soon as I can save. It is a very easy camera to learn, especially for beginners. I wish there was a camera cleaner included.

Or things that told you what  to safely clean the camera with.Of course it's not water, but are eyeglass cleaners safe? Or is there a special camera cleaner? I'm not sure, but other than that I'm more than happy!
